When All Else Fails

Next SKECT meeting November 16, 2011 @ 7:00p.m. in Sublette EMS building (South door)

SKECT History

In August 2006, Southwest Hospital Emergency Response Team (SHERT) contacted area hams to investigate the feasibility of installing a voice VHF/UHF radio system for redundant, backup communications for the hospitals in the Southwest region of Kansas

Southwest Kansas area Hams were contacted to attend a meeting to see if there was enough interest in the ham community to take on such a large and complex project. A series of meetings were held among the members of the group and some Area Emergency Managers to discuss the best design and select the best equipment for a VHF/UHF linked voice repeater system. 4 existing tower locations were chosen to install the UHF repeaters.
